Position Status: Full-time, 40 hours/week

Work Schedule: Must be available for 8-hour shifts within business hours (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM); schedule may vary.

How this role transforms workplaces:

The Onsite HR Generalist is responsible for providing onsite HR services and support for the client along with the support of the Xenium HR Business Partners and Xenium team. 

  • Acts as point of contact for Human Resources and serves as a liaison between the client and Xenium.
  • Acts as a resource for employees in all different aspects of HR.
  • In conjunction with the HR Business Partners, provides Human Resource guidance and compliance to client.
  • Responds to HR questions from managers and employees. Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation by ensuring standards are being met and consistently applied across the organization.
  • Provides disciplinary and coaching support in conjunction with the HR Business Partners and the Xenium team. Participates in employee counseling and termination meetings as appropriate.
  • Coordinates all aspects of investigations and terminations in conjunction with the Xenium team.
  • Assists with recruiting efforts by creating job postings and advertising open positions, conducting candidate screening activities, drafting offer letters and managing pre-employment processes. Develops contract terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers.
  • Schedules and conducts new hire and benefits orientations.
  • Works with the client team to administer benefit plans and is the employee point of contact for benefit inquiries. Supports the client with annual benefit renewal.
  • Works with managers to ensure that all the proper documentation is in place for all aspects of HR.
  • Works with the Xenium team in implementing HR project deliverables to include: Employee Handbooks, Job Descriptions, Wage Surveys, HR Compliance Assessments, Employee Satisfaction Surveys, Performance Management Programs, Trainings and other client company objectives.
  • Manages performance review process to include filing and tracking of review forms. Reviews incoming performance reviews for completeness. 
  • Conducts exit interviews.
  • Manages retirement applications and processes.
  • Provides backup support to the Drug and Alcohol Program, including compliance, random draw process, and required training, when needed.
  • Works with client’s leave administrator/vendor to support compliant leave administration and tracking.
  • Supports the workers’ compensation process and participates in the client’s safety committee.
  • Participates in the client meetings to discuss HR related assigned topics as needed.
  • Attends relevant seminars and training workshops to keep abreast of HR best practices as well as employment law updates.
  • Maintains the personnel filing system to include applicants, active and inactive employees.
  • Assists the client team with responding to unemployment claims and participates in hearings when needed.
  • Drives to various company locations and completes miscellaneous HR projects as assigned.

Senior HR Business Partner, Xenium Specialists, and client employees.

Required experience and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and three to five years of related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service and work independently.
  • Possess excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal, organizational, attention to detail, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Display empathy while maintaining firm boundaries.
  • Ability to work independently while developing and fostering critical interdepartmental relationships.
  • Means to travel within the Eugene metropolitan area.

Preferred skills and certifications:

  • Experience in the public sector and a unionized environment is preferred.
  • Human Resources certification.

Xenium HR is committed to providing a competitive compensation package. The starting salary for this role ranges from $32-35/hour based on skills/knowledge, years of experience, and ensuring pay equity within the organization.
