Payroll Tax Specialist - Full time
XeniumHR is seeking an internal, full time Payroll Tax Specialist. Clients rely on Xenium’s payroll professionals for technical accuracy, the highest level of customer service and improved efficiency and service quality.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, city and other agencies by conducting periodic audits.
Prepares electronic filing of multi-client and multi-state payroll tax returns and reports daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly as needed.
Provide analytical support to payroll specialists to resolve payroll tax questions and discrepancies.
Prepares payroll tax amendments as required.
Reconciles and balances all payroll tax withholdings, deposits and filings (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually).
Resolves payroll tax discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
Prepares and distributes client W2’s and 1095Cs, with corresponding reports as required.
Assists with identifying and documenting policies and procedures.
Supports the ongoing system set up and maintenance of critical payroll data such as UI and EE withholding accounts, workers compensation rates and garnishments.
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred.
One to five years of experience in payroll and payroll tax.
Must have excellent analytical and technical skills.
Experience in multi-jurisdiction and high volume payroll preferred.
Manage competing priorities and frequent interruptions.
Effectively communicate with tax authorities and software vendors to solve technical problems or discrepancies.
Willingness to embrace change and learn new skills, tools and technology.
